How to File a Copyright Infringement Notice (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3))

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are covered);
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing (or the subject of infringing activity) and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (e.g., URL);
  4. Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address);
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

Incomplete notices may be ineffective under the DMCA.

Counter-Notification (17 U.S.C. §512(g))

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled;
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number; and
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or for the Eastern District of New York if outside the U.S.) and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification or their agent.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material 10–14 business days after forwarding the counter-notice to the original complainant, unless the complainant notifies us that they have filed an action seeking a court order.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, we will disable and/or terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We may also deny Site access to anyone who violates this Policy or the law.

Misrepresentations

Under 17 U.S.C. §512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing (or that it was removed by mistake or misidentification) may be liable for damages.

Reservation of Rights

We may remove or disable access to content alleged to infringe without prior notice, at our discretion, and without admitting liability. Our policies and procedures may change from time to time; updates will be posted to this page.
